SNOWMAN CARDI scored the 6"x6" piece of pattened paper at 2" and 4". Then I turned the paper a quarter turn and scored again at 2" and 4". So I was left with a 3x3 grid, each section measuring 2"x 2". Then I fold on all my score lines and cut where the black lines are. I use this way of cutting for patterned paper because it isn't as thick as card stock and this fold will give each wall a double layer, which makes it stronger.
Here it is cut and creased. Then apply adhesive of your choice to the inside middle squares. Try to get as close as you can to the edges so the layers don't flap (I hope you understand what I mean by flap) Also, I don't usually use paper with a lined or one way pattern because as you can see below then each wall is facing a different direction. I personally perfer each wall to look the same.
Then to make the top. I take the 3-5/8" x 3-5/8" piece of cardstock and score 3/4" around each side (I just rotate around and do each side, because for me it's easier to do it this way than it is to do the math *SMILE*)Again, I fold all the score line and cut where I drew in the black lines. Then I adhere the small flaps to the inside.
Here is a picture of the top and bottom together. For my hostess gift I sponged ink on the creases. and added a flower embellishment to the top, but you can decorate it anyway!
Feel free to contact me if you need any clearification or help.
Lastly, remember to visit my Stampin' Up website for the latest news, promotions, and events. There is an event coming up on the 20th of Sept. If you can't make, it check back to see pictures from the event.
For me, embellishing my projects is the hardest part of the creation process. Luckily, I perfer the look of simple cards, but even I think this one needs something else. I decided to still share this card though, because I really like the layout.
If you think you know what the card needs, leave me comment with your suggestion.

Hawaii is beautiful and we are all doing well. I had a little time to stamp the other day, so I will have a few cards to share with you the next few days.
For this card I used a lot of the 2007-2008 "In Colors" remember that these colors are also retiring on August 10th. If you love them, like I do, you may want to order ink refills & paper before they are no longer available.
I hope you enjoy.
I hope you all had a happy Tuesday.
I had a wonderful meeting with my upline last night. One of my favorite things about being a demonstrator are the monthly meetings with my upline & sideline (i.e. the peson I signed up to be a demonstrator through and the other people who also signed up to be demonstrators through her). We all share ideas and I have learned so much through these meetings. This is the card I made for Ted for Father's Day. I used the watercoloring with markers technique to color the image. The puffs of smoke from the smoke stack were colored with pastels (it is hard to see in the photo) and raised off the card with dimensionals.
